Steven Winter Associates, Inc. (SWA) has been pre-approved to perform eligible indoor air quality (IAQ) studies under the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) Flexible Technical Assistance (FlexTech) program.
The FlexTech program shares the cost of performing an objective, site-specific, and targeted study on how best to implement clean energy and/or energy efficiency technologies. Eligible studies or projects now include those involving investigations of IAQ measures pertaining to new guidelines for COVID-safe building operation. The following are the IAQ Study Goals listed in NYSERDA’s IAQ Studies Guidelines:
- Conducting a comprehensive evaluation of the air distribution systems and building controls;
- Analyzing COVID-safe and effective building solutions balanced with energy efficiency, with a focus on ventilation, filtration, building operation optimization, air cleaning, and other appropriate strategies that will ensure the building(s) operate as energy efficiently as possible in a COVID-safe manner.
SWA is committed to a holistic approach to improving the built environment. This includes finding a balance between superior indoor air quality, occupant comfort, and energy efficiency in all buildings. SWA welcomes such challenges and is looking forward to providing FlexTech cost shared IAQ services to our clients.
